Terms of service
The rules for using Nodetropy, ownership of your project content, plan and subscription principles, and the responsibilities that come with using engineering tools.
Last updated 26 September 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
These terms govern your access to and use of Nodetropy, including the public website, calculators, accounts and engineering workspace. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
If you use Nodetropy on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for that organisation where applicable.
2. Eligibility and younger users
You must be at least 13 years old to create your own Nodetropy account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use the service, and a parent, guardian or other legally capable adult must enter into any paid subscription where required by law or the payment provider.
Do not provide false age, identity or payment information to access the service.
3. Your account
You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity carried out through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not share access in a way that bypasses plan limits, attempt to access another user’s project without permission, or use another person’s credentials without authorisation.
4. The Nodetropy service
Nodetropy provides tools for organising engineering work, including project planning, requirements, tasks, risks, components and subsystems, engineering properties, BOM and budget information, Notebook records, calculations, versions and traceability features. Features can change as the product develops.
Some features may be available only on particular plans. Current plan descriptions and limits shown in the product or on the Pricing page form part of the service description at the time you subscribe.
5. Your content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of the project content and files you create or upload to Nodetropy. You give us a limited permission to host, store, copy, transmit and process that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain and provide the service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights needed to upload and use your content. Do not upload content that unlawfully infringes another person’s intellectual-property, privacy or other rights.
Nodetropy and its own software, interface, branding, documentation and original content remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of Nodetropy to you.
6. Acceptable use
You must not misuse Nodetropy. In particular, you must not:
- break the law or use the service to facilitate unlawful activity;
- probe, bypass or defeat authentication, permissions, rate limits, plan controls or security measures;
- access, alter or delete another user’s data without authorisation;
- introduce malware or deliberately disrupt, overload or damage the service;
- automatically scrape or extract the service in a way that materially burdens it or violates applicable law;
- reverse engineer protected parts of the service except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by law; or
- misrepresent your identity or your authority to use payment details or an organisation’s account.
7. Engineering information and calculators
Nodetropy is a project-management and engineering productivity tool. Calculations, summaries, project status, traceability information and other outputs can contain errors or depend on information you provide. They are not a substitute for appropriate engineering judgement, independent verification, testing, professional review or compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
You remain responsible for checking outputs before relying on them for safety-critical, financial, manufacturing, regulatory or other consequential decisions.
8. Free plans, trials and paid subscriptions
Nodetropy may offer free and paid plans. Paid prices, billing intervals, included features and any trial terms will be shown before you confirm a purchase. Where a trial requires a payment method and automatically converts to a paid subscription, that will be stated before the trial starts.
Paid billing will be processed through Stripe or another payment provider identified at checkout. Nodetropy does not need to receive your full card number to provide the service.
If you cancel a subscription, the cancellation timing shown in the billing flow or account portal applies, subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer law. Expiry or downgrade may restrict editing or paid features, but Nodetropy’s product policy is not to deliberately delete engineering project data merely because a paid subscription ends.
9. Consumer rights
If you use Nodetropy as a consumer, nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights relating to digital services and paid subscriptions. If these terms conflict with a mandatory consumer right, that mandatory right takes priority.
10. Availability, changes and beta features
We aim to keep Nodetropy reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed. We may maintain, update, add, remove or change features where reasonably necessary to improve the service, address security or legal issues, or develop the product.
Preview, beta or experimental features may be less reliable and may change or be withdrawn. We will avoid making changes that unfairly remove paid value without appropriate notice or remedy where consumer law requires one.
11. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, address non-payment, or respond to a serious breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will try to give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
You may stop using Nodetropy at any time and can use the account controls provided to request account deletion. Subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate actions.
12. Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or other liability that cannot legally be limited.
Subject to those protections and any mandatory consumer rights, Nodetropy is not responsible for losses caused by information you enter incorrectly, your failure to verify engineering outputs, unauthorised use of your credentials, third-party services outside our control, or events that could not reasonably have been prevented.
These terms do not attempt to exclude rights or remedies that UK consumer law gives you.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy notice explains how personal information is handled. Our Cookies notice explains our use of browser storage and similar technologies.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are intended to operate under the laws applicable to the Nodetropy operator in the United Kingdom. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings that apply where you live. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve a problem informally.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect product, legal or operational changes. The current version will be posted here with an updated date. For material changes affecting existing users, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
