Create your first project
A practical path from an empty workspace to a useful engineering project.
Create the project
From Home, create a project and give it a name that will still make sense when you have several projects. Once created, the project workspace becomes the hub for its engineering records.
Add the first records
Begin with the project information that is already certain. Most projects benefit from starting with requirements and a rough component/subsystem structure, then adding tasks and risks as the work becomes actionable.
- Requirements: constraints, targets and acceptance conditions.
- Components/subsystems: the physical or logical system breakdown.
- Tasks: work that must be completed.
- Risks: uncertain events or conditions worth tracking.
Grow the project deliberately
Add versions, design cycles, Notebook evidence, BOM items and Budget records when they become useful. A smaller accurate workspace is more valuable than a large workspace filled with placeholder records.
