Links and Traceability
Understand integration links, context links and the Traceability Map.
What a link means
A Nodetropy link records a relationship between engineering records. It does not generally copy data or force two systems to share the same value. This keeps each system authoritative for its own information while preserving context across the project.
Traceability Map
The Traceability Map provides a visual node-and-connection view of project relationships. Use filtering and navigation to reduce the graph to the part of the project you are investigating. Links can be created and removed from the map where supported.
- Zoom the map without scrolling the page.
- Drag nodes to clarify a dense area.
- Use filters to focus on relevant entity types.
- Treat the map as a relationship view, not a replacement for the underlying record editors.
Free-plan integration links
The current Free plan uses a project-wide integration-link allowance of 30 for cross-system links. Structural relationships do not count toward that allowance. BOM integration links are Pro-only and do not consume the Free allowance because they are unavailable on Free.
