Engineering Notebook
Capture the evidence, reasoning and history that explain how the project developed.
Notebook entries
Notebook entries are first-class engineering records rather than loose notes. Use them for design logs, research, calculations, build logs, problems, meetings, tests and design decisions as appropriate.
- Link entries to project entities when the relationship adds context.
- Use tags and metadata to keep a large Notebook navigable.
- Associate versions/design cycles when an entry belongs to a particular design context.
Imported documents and attachments
Documents can be imported into the Notebook so external engineering material can sit beside the project records it supports. Original files are preserved as attachments and the document record carries its project context.
Note: Notebook attachments are stored in the project's private storage area and are protected by project ownership policies.
Advanced Notebook areas
The Notebook also includes structured areas for research, design cycles, iterations, Test Lab, tests and decisions, design reviews, health, reports and activity. These advanced areas are Pro capabilities in the current plan model.
